SUMMARY:Streamliner Modern Jazz Septet at Brothers Brewing Company
DESCRIPTION:Streamliner Modern Jazz Septet \nOctober 23 · 7–10pm\nBrothers Brewing\, Guelph\n$20 / PWYC \nStreamliner is a new seven-piece jazz group bringing a larger-scale sound to the Guelph scene. The music moves through jazz-rock\, blues\, bebop and contemporary jazz\, with arrangements by Liam Gallagher and Hayden Mesnick. \nThe repertoire includes music by John Scofield\, Liam Gallagher\, Hayden Mesnick and Tara Davidson\, played by a band of some of the strongest jazz musicians in the region: \nPhil Langlotz — alto saxophone\, flute\nTim Moher — tenor saxophone\, clarinet\, soprano saxophone\nAdam Sneyd — trumpet\, flugelhorn\nJim Edwards — trombone\nHayden Mesnick — piano\, jazz organ\nLiam Gallagher — upright and electric bass\nTed Warren — drums \nThe music is innovative and expressive\, but also direct and approachable. Streamliner is interested in playing challenging music without making the audience work for it. Expect a tight\, energetic band that wants to connect with the room and give people a good time. \nLarge-ensemble jazz like this is rarely heard in Guelph. Come hear something new\, live at Brothers Brewing. \nProduced by the Guelph Jazz Society and Brothers Brewing.
